The Department of Horticultural Science is proud to be the academic home for the nationally recognized Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. The mission of the Arboretum is to provide a community and a national resource for horticultural and environmental information, research and public education; to develop and evaluate plants and horticultural practices for cold climates; and to inspire and delight all visitors with quality plants in well-designed and maintained displays, collections, model landscapes, and conservation areas. The Arboretum is an important resource for our Department. The largest collection of cold tolerant plants materials in the U.S., the prestigious Andersen Horticultural Library, a newly remodeled Childrens Learning Center, and the Horticultural Research Center are available to faculty and students for education and research. |
