Department Safety
 

All employees of the University of Minnesota working in laboratories must complete new employee Laboratory Safety training, as well as annual update training. For new employee training, see http://www.dehs.umn.edu/training_newlabsafety.htm.

Volunteers working in departmental laboratories should fill out the Volunteer Lab Use document (see below). The current department Laboratory Safety Plan is also located at the bottom of this page.

Employees working in the greenhouse or field must complete Worker Protection Safety training. To complete this training, see Roger Meissner, College of Food, Agricultural and   Natural Resource Science greenhouse manager.

Employees driving University vehicles should read the following - Vehicle Safety . Anyone driving a departmental vehicle should complete the 4-hour driver training class offered by Fleet Services. Anyone driving a 15-passenger van should complete 15 passenger van training  (see http://www1.umn.edu/fleetsrv/tra4main.html).
