Extension:
Minnesota Master Gardener Program
Started Program in 1976 by providing leadership to the planning and implementation of this volunteer program. Continue to provide leadership to this program in the areas of planning, core course operation, updates, etc. Provide presentations to the core courses, updates, tri-state meetings and county programs as need/requested. Serve as a resource person for Master Gardeners, Extension Educators and others in the area of general horticulture. Continue to work with Dr. Mary Meyer and Linda Wasem as part of the State Master Gardener staff concerning day-to-day operation of the program. Continue to serve on the Master Gardener Advisory Board since its formation. Provide Leadership to special Master Gardener functions such as the State Fair Booth, etc. Provide leadership to the Master Gardener vegetable variety trials and evaluation.
Consumer Answering
Provide information to staff members of the University Plant information Clinic as requested. Provide information to industry personnel in the areas of woody landscape plants, maintenance, tree care, etc. This includes personnel in the nursery and landscape industry, tree service, arborists, municipal, county and state employees. Provide information to Arboretum clientele and other visitors to the Arboretum.
