Comments:
This is a sprawling and relatively newly established arboretum. The Arboretum's mission is "to provide intelligent nature conservation using its outdoor, year-round displays of the regions flora and fauna and to provide recreation that respects and appreciates these assets within its boundaries." The Arboretum contains a Red Pine plantation and an area of Jack Pine savanna, one of only five examples of this habitat in Minnesota. Other areas include a native tree trail, a Minnesota DNR landscaping for wildlife demonstration area, youth gardens and a wild flower trail. There is also a central pond with an arched bridge that has been designed and planted with hardy species to resemble the famous garden in Giverny, France designed by Claude Monet.
