Comments:
This is a display garden that was established just east of the adjacent Rose Garden in 1962 when the Phelps, or "Turtle", Fountain was moved here from its former downtown site in Minneapolis' Gateway Park, which was sucumbing to urban renewal. The garden is made up of two long perennial borders that flank six annual beds. The combination of fountain and flowers contained by an undulating hedge, makes this a sought out spot not only for garden enthusiasts, but for wedding ceremonies and photos, as well. The flower beds are well labeled with plant I.D. tags.
