Comments:
Loring Park is sometimes called the hub of the Grand Rounds Trails. These trails take you, walking, biking or driving, through the whole city of Minneapolis. This display garden was installed as part of a refurbishing of Loring Park. It's centerpiece is a large, circular bed containing birch trees underplanted with a mixture of wildflowers and annuals. This central area is ringed with multiple wedge shaped beds planted with colorful and imaginative combinations of shrubs, evergreens, ornamental grasses and perennials. There is good plant signage in the main garden. Paths in the garden are brick and there is ample seating.
Edges of the lake within Loring Park have been left wild and there are "no-mow" areas in the park that reflect a renewed concern for maintaining water quality and wildlife habitat.

Mixed plantings fill the garden beds
